Patrons

Lord and Lady Cunliffe

"We would like to say a huge Thank You to Lord & Lady Cunliffe for becoming Patrons to our Support Group, we are grateful for their support and involvement."

Clemency & Roger Cunliffe first came to coastal Suffolk in their youth, and have made it their home since the early 1980s.  Until they retired they both worked in London, she as a psychotherapist and he as an architect.  They raised their family there:  now one son and their daughter live in the United States, and their other son in Kent. While in London Clemency was Chair of The Hill Homes, a group of old people's homes in North London:  she is now its President.  Both have family connections with Guy's Hospital, where her uncle was Professor of Surgery (and a cancer specialist), and his father was Chair of the Governors (and died of cancer there).  So the NHS has been part of their lives since its start. Here in Suffolk Clemency is a trustee of the Ipswich Care & Counselling Centre, Roger is a Visiting Senior Fellow at University Campus Suffolk, and both are Vice-Patrons of The Suffolk Foundation.  It was through the Foundation, where they have a charitable fund (The Cunliffe Family Fund), that they heard about Ipswich Head & Neck Cancer Support.  Previously they had donated to what is now Cancer Research UK, but through the Foundation they are now channelling their giving to small local charities with the same 'themes' as the national charities they formerly supported.
